Memories Lodge is located on Donkey Lake just southwest of Denali National Park. Nature and tranquility are our neighbors offering our guests solitude and serenity. The location is our home year round, a paradise in the Alaskan wilderness or “The Bush,” as it is known to Alaskans. The lodge offers fantastic views of Mt. McKinley, Mt. Foraker and the Alaskan Range. Wildlife is generally good in the area. Moose, grizzly bear, black bear, wolves, coyotes, wolverine, ermine, otter, marten, beaver, cranes, eagles, spruce grouse, ptarmigan, ducks, loons, Canadian geese, and swans have all been observed on the lodge’s and the cabin’s lawn, the lake, creeks, rivers and surrounding area. Wildflowers flourish mid June through September. The berries come ripe in July. The long days of summer bring remarkable sunrises and beauty of the Midnight Sun. Linger over hearty family-style meals with your hosts at the dining table in the lodge. Pancakes, eggs and bacon top your breakfast plate. Homemade breads, soups, cakes, and pastries are just some of the delicious treats that you will experience.
