Your hosts: Larry & Lori Beyer
We call Memories Lodge our home and live here year around. Our supplies are freighted in by
snowmachine in the winter or flown in by bush plane equipped with floats in summer and skis in the winter for landing on the lake. For the two-to-three months of the year during winter “freeze-up” and “spring break-up,” we are isolated in the Alaskan Bush.
Our experiences of living the dream that most of us have had at one time or another; varies from having grizzly bears, black bear and moose out the front door, to long winter nights by the warm fire with a good book while the Aurora Borealis dance overhead, to surprise visits by traveling wolves or coyotes. We invite you to share the dream.
Memories Lodge also is a host to families with children with life-threatening illnesses through the non-profit organization, Kippenberg Creek Kids.(kippenbergcreekkids.com) We help fulfill dreams of these children and invite the family along also so they can enjoy and be part of the child’s dreams and wishes.
Summer Activities
Recreation activities are limited only by your imagination and the seasons. Take a relaxing boat ride around the lake and try your hand fishing Northern Pike or fish the creeks and rivers for trout, King Salmon in June or Silver Coho Salmon, Red Sockeye Salmon, Pink Humpback Salmon and Chum Salmon in August. You can view wildlife, take advantage of photography opportunities or hike to the creek to try your hand at gold panning, Take an agro ride up the Yenlo’s foothills and view Mount McKinley and Mount Foraker from top to bottom while viewing the whole valley of creeks and rivers to the Alaskan Mountain Range.
Alaskan summers can be legendary, but they can also turn wet and cold quickly, so be sure and bring along gear to break the wind and rain and some warm layers in case the temperature decides to drop. In summer, access is available by float plane only, which operates daily from
Anchorage and Willow. Scenic flights to Denali and the area are also options for your flight to the lodge or during your stay. Memories Lodge is a perfect place to relax, away from the stress of the world around you. If you’re looking for solitude, scenery, wildlife, leisure, and an exhilarating only one of its kind experience, then look no further. Our desire is to design a unique wilderness experience for you, based on your desires and capabilities. Summer activities can seem to last all day, because the day lasts all day.
Winter Activities
We offer a variety of winter activities. Come to Memories Lodge on your snow machine, spend the day riding on untracked snow on the Yenlos and come back to the cozy lodge for a hot meal and warm drinks. You can go ice fishing on the lake or bring cross-country skis or snowshoes, view the mystical northern lights and winter photography is some of the possibilities for you to enjoy Alaska’s wild
country. There are numerous packages that we can put together to suit your desires, including a winter scenic flight of Denali for your trip in by ski plane. Our winter season is generally mid January through March; however other dates may be possible, contact us for availability.
Let us know your needs and we will build your personal Alaskan winter adventure.
